It is a parvalbumin- family calcium-binding protein expressed and secreted by macrophages that typically traffic to tissue as an inflammatory response or after injury. Oncomodulin promotes axon regeneration in retinal ganglion cells and maintains functioning in mouse cochlear hair cells. |
